The Hydroacoustic Sound Bed
I am April Bogle, RN. I designed and patented the Hydroacoustic Sound Bed, and it is the only device of its kind in the world. Low frequency sound travels through a water mattress and into the tissue itself, giving the nervous system a felt experience of rest.

A patented instrument, one of one.
The Hydroacoustic Sound Bed is a multi-sensory therapeutic instrument I created and hold the sole patent for. You lie on a water mattress fitted with four low frequency transducers, headphones over your ears, light therapy glasses over your eyes. The same composition reaches you three ways at once: as music woven with binaural beats, as light pulsing in time with the sound, and as low frequency waves moving through the water beneath you and up into your body.
What you hear, what you see, and what you feel arrive as a single experience. There is nothing to perform and nothing to get right. The mind runs out of reasons to stand guard, and the body takes it from there.
Water is the difference.
Nearly every sound therapy bed in existence is vibroacoustic. A transducer shakes a surface of foam, wood, or fabric, and your body reads the vibration where skin meets platform. Water changes the physics. The body is mostly water itself, so when sound crosses from the mattress into you, there is barely a boundary to cross. Low frequency waves in the 1 to 200 Hz range pass through the mattress and keep traveling, through muscle, through fascia, into bone, reaching depths that surface vibration cannot. Clients call it an internal massage for the soul.
The shape of a session.
A practitioner-led session runs 75 to 90 minutes. It opens with a short orientation, then you settle onto the bed for a breath sequence that brings the nervous system down. From there the hydroacoustic portion begins. Music with binaural beats in the headphones, light pulsing in rhythm at your closed eyes, voice guidance and toning woven through, and the water underneath carrying all of it inward. The session closes with a brief integration, giving the body time to absorb the experience before you return to your day.
A 30 minute Mini Reset session is also available.
Two ways to meet the bed.
Full Session with Integration
90 minutesOrientation and a breath sequence, the full hydroacoustic portion with voice guidance and toning, and a closing integration, so what settles stays with you.
Mini Reset
30 minutesThirty minutes on the bed for a nervous system that needs to come down today and does not have the full hour and a half.
Sessions take place at Bask Retreat Center in Centerville, Tennessee.
Book a SessionThe bed lives at Bask.
The Hydroacoustic Sound Bed is installed at Bask Retreat Center in Centerville, Tennessee: forty-two acres of forest, creek, and quiet, about ninety minutes west of Nashville, with a sauna and a cold plunge on the land. The setting is not an accident. The land starts the settling before the bed ever does. Practitioner-led sessions run on the days I am on site, and a guided amenity session is available between my visits.
I am a registered nurse and I screen every client before a session. Certain cardiac conditions, implanted devices such as pacemakers, seizure disorders, deep vein thrombosis, recent surgery, and high risk pregnancy require clearance from a healthcare provider first.
A growing body of study.
Vibroacoustic therapy has been studied for its role in supporting calm and wellbeing across a range of experiences.
Rest you do not have to work for.
